“Now may God himself, the God of peace, make you pure, belonging only to him. May your whole self — spirit, soul, and body — be kept safe and without fault when our Lord Jesus Christ comes.”

Thank you for sharing your talents with us, i don’t think i could ever even start to explain how much it means to me.
It’s an amazing thing to think how many people you have blessed. Keep it up :)

That was excellent and very helpful.
Thank you for being an amazing example,
and for staying true to God and Christianity even though so many famous people don’t.
Amen! Continue following Christ, Adam and He will do great things through you! Thanks for sharing.
Lovely to have a verse that I can map my life by like this :) Thank you so much for your inspirational writing and for helping me stay on the Christian Walk. I love how you are such an wonderful example and can’t express how much I appreciate you.
Anything but The Truth in our Lord Jesus Christ is irrelevant. LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog
An excellent passage of scripture, my Little Brother in Christ. This Mom has certainly been praying for your spirit and body to be kept safe while you whirl around the world on this frenzied tour. :)
Adam, I was also at the show last night (right in the front row!!) It was incredible. Thank you for being so inspiring and for sharing the Gospel.

Psalm 119:9-11
9How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word.
10 With my whole heart I seek you;
let me not wander from your commandments!
11I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.
Thank you so much for this verse, Adam. It really applies to some things that I have discovered in God’s Word over the past few days. A great encouragement, thank you so much! :)
You keep to your faith, and I’ll keep to my lack of such. Agreed?
Nice picture though.
this.
thank you.
“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life – in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.”
Philippians 2:14-18 (NIV)
It too comes down to one basic principal, the way in which one should conduct their life, “That For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
Thank you for sharing!!
God bless you, buddy. Great Scripture choice, and also, I must say, cool painting to throw in there. It puts me in mind of . . . God, breathing everything into existence. Awesome.
Well, have fun touring, and once again, God bless,
- Joel
I had Galaxies swirling around my head all day. HE IS THE SAVING GRACE OF THE GALAXIES. Love that line, little brother!
Thanks God…
It’s great to be on website of my favourite singer and read Bible at the same time :D

Glory to God.
Christ lives in you Adam! =)
”But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him, because we will see him as he really is. Christ is pure, and all who have this hope in Christ keep themselves pure like Christ.”
(1 John 3:2-3)
Never lose your faith. God bless you !!
Adam, you just made my smile even wider on my 18th birthday by posting this. Thank you for all that you do! May your life be filled with faith, hope, love, peace, happiness, blessings, … and all those good little virtues we all hold so dear!

That was just the verse I needed to hear today =)
Wow. That really made me think deeply. Actually today has been all about God and the after life, I was really surprised so this adds on today :) Thank you for this inspiring verse, It hit home. THANK YOU!! I love you bunches!!
I always think that if I ever met you I’d freak out and like stalk you, you’re so lucky I live no where near you ;) (I’m sorry, but that was weird wasn’t it…? I didn’t mean it to be. REALLY!) I know this has nothing to do with the blog entire, but I always think about it :D Love you!!!
(>.<) And this verse really is amazing!
Dear Adam,
Thank you! Thanks for such an inspirational Bible quote, thanks for standing strong in your faith, thanks for sharing your faith, thanks for pulling me out of my rut and back into faith. You are such a large part of my life, and at times like these, when I begin to feel hopeless and harried and pestimistic, I am glad I can rely on a post such as this to make me feel better. I have a story for you:Last night, I read a terrifying book (I don’t know why I was reading it in the first place, I am such a scaredy-cat, and I have horrible nightmares when I read/see disturbing things) and I was super scared to go to bed because nightime, while it is normally charming and mysterious, can be a scary thing when you are scared and things could be lurking in the closet or somewhere in the house. Anyway, I was freaking out, and, when I do so, I tend to sing Christian songs to help me feel better. What do you know, the first song I began to sing softly to myself was “Galaxies,” followed by “Meteor Showers,” and then some “Grace Like Rain.” Needless to say, I felt so much better, and I went to sleep swiftly. So, I guess I should thank you, and Todd Agnew, for my peace of mind and sweet dreams. God bless you, and I’ll keep you in my prayers.
Love,
Madeline
P.S. I’m trying to figure out if that picture has some incredibly amazing symbolism behind it. I think it’s depicting the clash of good (God) and evil (Satan) as depicted by the white and black, respectively. Just spitballing, here. :) Anyone else have ideas? I’ve never been very good at art interpretation (or art itself, for that matter).
@Madeline: It may also be about what the verse says…about keeping ourselves pure and without fault…the light color representing the pure part of our hearts, the dark color representing the evil. Just an idea. :) I’m not very good at interpreting art either, though I wish to be. :)
Adam,
Wow. Being honest, that was exactly what I needed to hear today. And I think that has just become my life verse. Thank you for the encouragement.
Josh(E)
I’ve always liked that verse. Apictures worth a thousand words and when it’s put on your blog, it’s worth seven million and a half.

I love reading your blog Adam! I think we have a lot in common and I would really appreciate it if you looked at my blog! http://saaraajuddha.blogspot.com/ (I love comments and feedback!)
Thanks!
i love that you can just post a bible verse as your blog post and its just great! post more verses that stand out to you! jesus is amazing and i love hearing stuff from other people thanks adam! :)
Awesome scripture. :) Thanks for sharing it and for being so dedicated to your faith.
I wish He would come soon.
beautiful. just beautiful.
Whoopee. Another Bible quote. Bye, bye, blog… You annoy me.
*gag *
Thanks, Adam.
Words to live by…
Let it be true of my heart, Amen.
The painting reminds me of how God continues to work on us, making us more like Himself. We are still a swirled mixture of sinfulness and purity, but God is continually working and He takes the darkness and brings in light and hope.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Amen brother!!
Now to never forget those words, and apply them in our daily life.
Thank you for the reminder Adam :)
Agreed my friend!
Meteor Shower is swirling around my head at this entry…MUST LISTEN TO METEOR SHOWER ASAP.
Who made this painting? I love it.
By the way-
And ignore the haters, they’re gonna hate no matter what. Never stop being you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love to hear anything you have to say!<3
Beautiful :3
I’m going to give this to a friend n___n !
Why you are not releasing I Hope You Think Of Me??
(please release it…….)
Sorry for my english :)
Adam,
This verse means so much to me. I needed to read it. Thanks for posting this. I give God the glory, he knew I needed that! :)
Keep Writing!
Livy
PS: The world will reject us. Stay strong in the Lord! :)
BTW-When I say don’t listen to the haters, I’m not accusing the Hoot Owls of hating, I mean it in the most non-mean way(Yeah I know, not a word!;D) Just saying that we love you, and don’t ever change Adam!!!!!!!!!
Oh, I hope another argument doesn’t burst out. But that doesn’t mean everyone shouldn’t post their opinions. I just don’t want people to be at each other’s throats.
True that…that’s a hard one sometimes…
you know…I used to read this blog because you’re famous and I liked your music; that’s still part of it…but I also really enjoy hearing what you have to say about the word of God. It amazes me too…we’re all in the same family, we all have the same father…and I look foreword to someday worshiping God along side you and all of my other brothers and sisters, it will be amazing!
In the mean time…back to class…
Bless your heart and soul Adam!
I’m going to see you sing at the House Of Blues in 2 days and I REALLY can’t wait much longer!
You and your music inspire me everyday and I hope I will be able to fulfill my dream, to thank you in person and tell you about how you’ve changed my life without even knowing it and more!
People tell me that meeting you is impossible, but I don’t really listen, because I stick to my dreams and never let them go. I mean, maybe I’ll meet you in 2 days, 2 years, or hey, maybe while I’m walking down the street in the future!
Regardless of peoples’ remarks.
I won’t give up hope.
Because I know that my dreams, they will never turn to dust.
Thank you Adam Young, for being such a saint at heart.
It’s not an ‘in person’ thank you. But for now, it will have to do :)
All the best to you,
Katie Gembicki
Adam, you’re such a sweet person! I hope that I can meet you someday, so I can tell people that I just met one of the sweetest, nicest people on our planet. :)
All my love to long ago, and to all the days to come.
-Kenzie
Your steadfastness in your faith is so inspiring, and I really look up to you. Also, I realize that you didn’t actually write in this entry, but I’ve read all of your blog entries, and you have made me a better writer. Thank you for doing good with your fame and carrying out God’s plan for you. Cue you not ever seeing this. Oh well!
I pray that God will bless you in all that you do.
Very much love and support,
Emma
You inspire me. (: Your willingness to stand up for Christ has challenged me more than once in my Christian walk. Thank you. Someday I will find a man like you – someone inspiring and strong, but kind and incredibly considerate too. I pray for you some, Mr. Young. But I am going to start doing it more often.
By the way – you really need to come to Indiana more often! I would absolutely adore the opportunity to go to one of your concerts!
um, well evidently I can’t edit my comment. I put the wrong website… (:
Amen :)))
Love lots.
Way to be a wittness, Adam! This is why your a great artist, and– more importantly–a great person. Thank you for having the courage to be open about your faith, and for being how you are.
god bless you!
I think everyone who has ever been to one of your concerts or read your blog, or even just heard your music has been blessed more than they know. You inspire me to live for God and not be afraid to be who I am. Just listening to your music makes me feel like I’m worth something.
I wish I could see you in concert some time!! Kansas is the way to go man…
@Alexandra:
You defintely are good at art interpretation! I love that idea, and I think it really fits with what Adam is talking about. God bless!
can you believe God is so lovely?
it astounds me sometimes. all the times.
i really, REALLY love how you’re such a shining example of what it means to have faith in Jesus. you are all things that the music industry of this generation is missing — optimism, encouragement, true love, Jesus Christ… all things lovely.
all things bright and beautiful.
:D
i know you hear this alot, but.
you are very much an inspiration to me. i feel blessed to be able to look up to someone like you.
There are some really great things in the Bible. It’s nice to know that there are other people out there who read it too.
Every once in a while, I have evenings when my entire life looks darker than seems possible for someone as lucky as I. And on those evenings I visit your blog and read what you have said lately. Inevitably, my heart is lifted. Something you have posted always brightens my poor sad outlook on those evenings.
So would you allow me to return the favor, perhaps? Check out my blog. Many of my posts have been inspired by you; perhaps you’d like to read them. And maybe I’ll even be able to lift your heart on one of your despondent evenings.
I love your blog Adam! My writing is much inspired by yours! Please check out my blog at http://saaraajuddha.blogspot.com/ and I loveee comments and feedback! Thanks! :)
Dear Adam,
I realize that you get many of these posts every day and this will probably not be read, but if you do manage to read this, then it would mean the world to me. This is not like the other countless posts saying ‘you are a great singer!’ or ‘I love you- come to Denver!!’ or things like that. This post is all of those configured into a multitude of praises thanking both you and the Lord for your masterpieces that, with the help of God, you labored so hard on and created. This, and how your beautiful works of art can change lives. First off, my name is Brendan; I am from the Chicago area. All my life I had grown up with music, and gained good experience with it. However, I wanted to go beyond just rehearsing notes and memorizing chords. I wanted to create art which I could call mine; my own masterpiece. As I was exploring the musical world, I stumbled on a rather interesting musician; Owl City. As I listened to the more popular songs, I thought “This is pretty good; I wanna look further into his music”. And as I heard more and more of your work, I could literally hear the hard work you put into it; all of the little things, like a syncopated drum pattern or a synth riff, I could tell you poured your very heart and soul into every song you composed. When I was in late junior high, there were a lot of stressful things in my life, and I was having a troublesome time socially and mentally. I can specifically recall the day when I was listening to your older piece, Brielle, and I realized how very uplifting and adventurous your work was. Your work became the base inspiration of my musical career. It was afternoon, and the sun was starting to set, and during that song I realized how beautiful of a world we really live in. Another night, when trouble lurked in practically every corner of my life, I heard your version of “In Christ Alone” and the words were so powerful and beautiful that I just broke down, praising God for the hope He had just provided me with. He used you as that provider, and your music lifted me up to be a better person. Your music, with all the little things you cleverly insert into it, relates to the little things in life that make it great. I am a strong Christian, and I believe from then on that my faith in God only grew. A lot of artists in this time period base their inspiration off of drugs, partying, and clubs; but not you; you are different. You get you inspiration from God and all the beautiful things in our lives, and I am overjoyed that you put this great musical talent to action. Since that summer afternoon I have always seen things in the world more beautifully, whether it’s a rainy November day, or a hot morning in June, your colorful notes and lyrics influence me and surely many others to see those small things in life. If you read this, it may not mean much to you, but just to know that the base of my musical inspirations knows the influence he has in his music, then that would make me the happiest person alive. Thank you Adam, keep praising the Lord in your songs, and never stop what you’re doing, because you’re changing lives.
hey adam, thanks for sharing the verse
i’m from indonesia. Its not easy to be a christian in indonesia since christians are minority here. but the verse remind me, as the child of God, we should do God’s command and be the light in the dark. i see how God made you to become a light in music industry. Good job Adam, Jesus bless you :)
Adam,
Don’t miss the Leonids this year! Happening tonigh (or midnight of today – so, officially tomorrow) for your viewing pleausre. From midnight to dawn. They will be burning bright within the constellation “Leo” (if you didn’t already guess by their allotted name).
I realize Friday night you will be juicing up Grand Rapids with your euphoric music, but just in case the no-sleep bug gives you a good-sized bite tonight, your open eyes can be filled with God’s absolute beauty and wonder if they so choose to be.
You’re going to do positively splendid tomorrow, I look forward to being there.
Your dear friend in Christ,
Melissa
Hi Adam,
you are one special evangelist! Anything you do God uses to reach millions of hearts on this Earth. Thanks for keeping the high standard of your faith according to this verse and encouraging the listeners and readers to do the same… God’s words need to saturate today’s young (and young in heart) generation. You are a fantastic tool in His hand. May He bless you richly and keep you inspired always.
Sisterly hugs,
Olga
Ps.: Even my 6 years-old is a great fan of yours and sings your songs with passion!
This is a really good verse to remember! Thanks for reminding me :)
It might so beautiful to write so lovely songs? Your songs are so beautiful. I love all your songs.
You are awsome as always.
with best wishes,
Hemendra
God bless you Adam. I am truly grateful for the amazing way God has worked for you. Each new day brings blessings like a fresh blooming flower. I praise God for the ways that he is able to use you through your music in countries that scorn his name. It is a beautiful inspiration how your music is fearless in its proclamation and praise of the Holy One. I feel incredibly blessed that i was able to be at your concert in Cleveland tonight. It was something that a person could not simply watch on TV, the spirit was alive as the music played. Thank you for serving God and the people around you. I wish that me and the small group by the bus had gotten a chance to say hi to you but I’m sure you realized that the Minnesotan cold was following you here so you had to make your stay brief. Maybe next time :). God Bless You!
I dislike how vague bible verses are. and then, everyone cheers saying its helped them so much. codswallocks!
@Neli but then again, people say that they are so encouraged about anything Adam says, whether or not it’s a Bible verse. And some of the other things Adam says aren’t so crystal clear either.
@Neil: Well, you’ve gotta realize that for Christians, these verses aren’t vague. We know what they mean, we understand what they’re saying. So they do help us. If you don’t believe in God, don’t believe the Bible, in no way do I expect you to be encouraged or anything. I once heard a preacher say that a non-Christian reading the Bible is like reading someone else’s mail. The Bible is a “letter” from God to Christians. Not that non-Christians aren’t, like, allowed to read it, but people who believe God are going to get more out of it than people who don’t. :)
P.S. – Sorry if I offended you at all, not trying to start a fight. :)
Wonderful verse and painting, and I’m not Christian, but love all religious practitioners that are genuine and spiritual/come from real heart … any haters should get some respect and balance into their being, as the ‘middle path’ is being secure and at Peace with your deep inner self, and respecting others being that too. Haters showing disrespect kind of shows themselves up/closes them off from questioning and finding something deeper.
Anyways, beautiful verse/painting … you’re the most wonderful humble honest inspiration Adam, and bring light where little light shines … keep shining, as you’re truly a Star … you’re not a plastic ‘no-values’ ‘anything for celebrity, at anyone’s expense’ phoney in any way, and so many teens are growing up with you as a brilliant example … shining creativity, love, honesty, humbleness into the world TRULY makes all the difference.
And you show there are good spiritual men out there, which is awesome. Having been very abused, listening to your music makes me feel safe and ‘beyond’, where everything good is, and I thank you for that from my heart.
Have the most wonderful Christmas with your family and with God’s Love refreshing you after so much touring.
Love and light, Cat
You are so inspiring Adam!
A very merry Christmas to you and yours!
With love -S
<3
amen!!
Blessings sweetheart!
check out my blog at http://saaraajuddha.blogspot.com/ i love you adam!!!
Adam, you are a blessing and you’ve been mightily blessed. I want to both warn and encourage you.
I recently became very zealous about Christ within the last 2 years, and my excitement and passion for reaching other people collided with my inexperience. I am not accusing you of anything; I am sharing my experience for your benefit.
What I learned helped me to understand part of the qualifications of a pastor/teacher/elder (what ever you name it): 1 Timothy 3:6 says that he should not be a recent convert lest he be risk becoming arrogant and falling under condemnation.
I learned that the hard way. I was naive and zealous of sharing Christ. Let me clarify–I am still zealous, but I’ve outgrown my naivety. After meeting much opposition, I regained a newfound respect for God’s providence in salvation; namely, that it’s not up to us to convert people (I am not speaking against sharing the Gospel), it’s up to the Holy Spirit.
You have been given a wonderful position of influence, allowing you to be used as a tool for the Kingdom. All I want to say to you is, don’t mistakenly try to shoulder the burden of the entire body of Christ. You are still part of the body–YOUR JOB is to do much as you have been doing so far: presenting publicly the joy that is found in Christ, through your music and everything else you do–by doing so, the Holy Spirit is convicting many people’s consciences and causing them to desire to know more–to want what you’ve got, basically–a relationship with Jesus Christ.
In summary: please please don’t misunderstand my message. I only want to discourage you from fighting the wolves–we have many men who do that already, and by your connection to John Piper, many can draw the connection and learn from him. Your job as whatever part of the body you would consider yourself (the eyes, I would imagine–because it is almost as if you can see “in your mind’s eye” the glory of the Millenial Kingdom and you’re sharing the optimism of hoping for that day with the rest of us) to be, is to reflect Christ’s goodness, because you are in a position to do so better than many of the rest of us.
I am not saying that you should be one-dimensional. We are all called to fulfill the Great Commission and to be ready to give a defense when asked to give a reason for the hope we have (1 Peter 3:15).
All I am talking about is emphasis. Do what you do best. To summarize, I am not criticizing you for anything you have written–I think your blog is wonderful to read. I merely feel led (if you’ll believe me) to give you this encouragement / advice in the event that you are feeling a burden on your heart to preach. I would encourage you to do so through your music. The unsaved will seize any opportunity you give them, if you were to speak on a controversial topic on your blog, to attack you. Alas, such tribulation might be well on its way here in America. I don’t want you to neglect to preach the Word for fear of opposition. No way. I just want you to be GENTLE, because there are those who might be turned away by a harsh word, but when they experience the gentleness with which you (have been doing so far) exalt Jesus Christ, then they are more apt to seek Him.
So I guess what I’m saying is be aware of your audience. Don’t focus overmuch on correction, because these are still either unbelievers or baby Christians. They may not be ready for the really tough meaty Christian doctrines that I have no doubt you’re making sure you are well fed by.
I hope that this note finds you well, and that my meaning is not misunderstood, and that this encourages you and helps you to feel relief. Fear not, we are in this together. You are not called to bear everyone’s burden. But fulfill your calling. ;)
God bless you, brother Adam.
Wow. This verse is so wonderful – I think it’s one of my top 100 favorite Bible verses. Though it really ranks up there in the twenties on my list. :) Thank-you SO MUCH for posting that – I read it today and it reminded me yet again of how much God really does love us, and of how we should continually live our lives. Your music and posts are such a blessing! Thank-you!
Your Sister In Christ,
Becca
Eughhhh. Wow. Adam, you’re so amazingly wonderful and inspiring. Honestly, you really are. Well actully words can’t discribe it.
That really encouraged me, alot.
Thanks a bucket loads, I needed that.
Love,
Laurianna O,O
PROTIP: Posting a random verse from a book written by sheep herders during one of humanity’s last primitive ages doesn’t make you deep. If you want real inspiration, look at that painting. Because it contains more tangible substance than the verse.
This blog continues to confuse me. You can be so “earthly” and natural and original and amazing and all-encompassing one week. Then you become a conformist Christian with nothing better to do than quote ancient bronze-age text the next.
It’s not even the verse that bothers me. It’s all the mindless jabbering of how wonderful you are just for posting a few lines of text. I really don’t care the meaning behind them, because they aren’t profound, no matter how you slice it.
To all the Christian followers, good for you. I’m glad you have appreciation for Dr. Seuss levels of literacy. I really, truly am astounded at your method for finding meaning in life. Personally, I’d find more inspiration in The Cat in the Hat or Green Eggs and Ham, but I guess that’s neither here nor there.
As someone who used to reap many positive feelings from verses like this, and no longer does because I…well…woke up, I’m just trying to understand the appeal. But I’m sure my two cents will be seen as ZOMG HATER!!!111. Take them as you will. I’m sure I’ll see no end to the YOU JUST DON’T WANT TO SEE THE TRUTH! types of comments as a result of this.
I think I’ll go read some Edith Hamilton’s “Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes” in search of inspiration.
“Poor empty pants
With nobody inside them.”
― Dr. Seuss
Truth.
I have no idea if they will ever see this, but I have two beautiful people to thank. Hillary and her friend (I’m sorry, but Chloe and forgot your name and we were too embarrassed to ask) you two were absolutely amazing! Thank you for taking Chloe and me under your wings and hanging out with us despite the age difference. You two are angels, and I’m certain God sent you to us. Thank you for the glitter we got to throw while Adam sang “Dreams Don’t Turn to Dust” and for being such sweet people. I hope that God blesses you immensely, and I am so sorry Chloe and I couldn’t say goodbye to you. We have school tomorrow, so my parents wanted us out of the concert as soon as possible, so we missed you on the way out. I truly hope you see this, because I have no other way of contacting you, but I just wanted to express my gratitude. You both are so lovely. God bless, and may we talk to each other again.
Love,
Madeline
@Adam
You are free to speak your mind. I wish I could meet you in person.
@Caitlin (November 21, 2011 at 4:22 am)
You are free to speak your mind. I wish I could meet you in person.
Food for thought for any who read this:
1=1
SIDE ONE:
That’s an old outdated idea. Not to be rude or anything, but get with the times. It is not new. It is simplistic and stupid. Some idiot in a cave came up with the idea. It doesn’t change anything and it has no business interfering with my personal life. wtf!
SIDE TWO:
Cool! That’s a correct equation and it’s very fundamental. All of mathematics is based off of that. :)
@RagWindOrchestra
The Bible is in no way comparable to mathematical analyses representing actual quantities of things we can physically count. Numbers are not objects, but they represent real, tangible data. 1 is not equal to God. No more than Jesus = tree. I fail to see the point of your comparison.
Also, you give a poor representation of the skeptical mindset. Someone like me can appreciate all aspects of mathematics, because we use it every day, and it works consistently. Unlike Scripture, which changes depends on which translation you read, and even depending on which book you read.
I would have no qualms meeting anyone who could provide me with a decent intellectual discussion. So ditto.
I believe the Bible is a nice history book. It gives us a nice look into old ways of thinking thousands of years ago. It’s amazing to me how people explained what they couldn’t understand in those days. To look up at the sky and wonder why we’re all here and what our purpose is in life. I think, for the time period, knowing God was enough of an explanation for them. They knew everything was in God’s hands. A far cry different from the tyrannical ways of other deities, such as the Greek and Norse gods. But God is just one of many. He is not alone. He’s not the first, and certainly won’t be the last, creator of mankind. Most major religions and belief systems cry out to their creators, like in this verse. Begging for mercy, comfort, peace, humility, and/or all of the above. It’s a nice sentiment.
But do I take any of these tales as fact? Not really. I understand their importance to the development of humanity as a species. Even though I don’t believe a word of it, I can appreciate it for what it is: A way to become closer to the world around us and a need to feel like there is some sense of cosmic justice where the good and bad will be filtered out in the end. The good will receive all glory, and the wicked will be punished for all eternity.
But that’s what makes life special. You don’t really need the promise of an afterlife to have a worthwhile existence here. People of today are their own gods, and they can create beings more fantastical and cosmical than anything our ancestors could thousands of years ago. Because we know more than they did, and 2000 years from now, our descendants will know even more. They will probably look back on us and wonder “What the heck were those morons thinking, worshiping the God of Abraham? Steve the Invisible Flying Gerbil is the only true Creator.”
hey Adam, has anyone ever told you how beautiful in every way you are?
Thank you for this verse. God breathes beauty in every Word he says.
@Caitlin
I have to say I agree. The painting sure is beautiful, but Adam’s fans are getting weird ideas. Guys, that’s not even Adam’s own words! Brilliant? Inspired? All he did was copy down an old (mistranslated, probably) book. Not to mention Brad is right. All these religions, over time, have all claimed to be right. Why, now, should we believe any of them?
Hey again, Adam. Pardon if I sparked something unpleasant. However, I thought that in case you happened to be reading the comments and feeling like you want some Biblical encouragement (since what miss Caitlin doesn’t appreciate is that no original words of mine can approach the profundity of God’s Word), I’d like to share this with you:
New American Standard Bible (©1995)
John 15:20-21
“Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me.”
God bless you and keep you, Adam.
wow. thanks for sharing that.
the painting helped a lot, too, to like punch ya in the face and make a point. :)
oh, and btw, listening to “youtopia”. love it.
God Bless you Adam Young!!
“Be strong and courageous! Do
not tremble or be dismayed, for
the Lord your God is with you
wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
You are a wonderful role
model and a amazing singer!
LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! <3, Aria
i love your Gospel… may Jesus bless us with His love…
oh telescope keep an eye on my only hope
lest i blink and get swept off the narrow road
hercules you’ve got nothing to say to me
’cause you’re not the blinding light that i need
for He is the saving grace of the
GALAXIES
i hope someday i can help further the kingdom the way you do.
Hi Adam,
I praise God for your love for Him. You are not alone! At lease, I see another young man is doing the same thing: Tim Tebow!
May God bless you and keep you!
That is the suitable weblog for anyone who wants to seek out out about this topic. You understand a lot its virtually hard to argue with you (not that I truly would want…HaHa). You positively put a brand new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just great!
Adam, this is so true! This verse is really what it all comes down too. I can’t tell you how much I love your music, your style, your talent, and admire how you stand up for our faith! Please keep it up and don’t let the world get to you. Surround yourself with Christian friends and stay in the Word:). I’m so proud of you for all of your hard work and your love for our Jesus!! I can’t wait to meet you someday, even if I have to wait till the day we’re all in Heaven with our Saviour:)!!!! Ahh, I’m so excited to see Him!!!!
@Caitlin
You ARE intellectual. Even more than before I wish I was wherever you are. I see where you’re coming from for sure. The only comparison I’m drawing between numbers and God are that both are assumed absolutes regardless of whether you agknowledge them. If no one had ever told you that 1=1, would you know it and believe it? Regardless of personal qualms, it just is. (I know, bad analogy because it’s an analogy right?)
Same rule can be applied to what we know of God. He just is … and always was. If you look for Him, you’ll find Him. If truth is your aim and if you find it, you become like Neo from the matrix. You see things for what they are and the illusions flicker out. ;)
If you want to continue this discussion I’d be glad to carry it on elsewhere. I wish I knew more about skepticism …
@Brad
You’re one of those people that makes me go “where did HE come from?” In a good way. :) If we were neighbors I’d probably be at your house all the time. You would find this interesting: Search on Google for a documentary called “Techocalypse”. It’s free to watch online. Pretty well-made for 2006 too.
Dear Adam Young,
God bless you for your faithful commitment to Christ and being unashamed to share about His love. You probably are criticized for it, but I think it’s absolutely wonderful and refreshing. So many celebrities, actors, and musicians had a strong faith once, but let the world consume their lives. I’m so glad that you’re not one of them. I’ve been reading your blog and I keep finding posts that just speak to me- while others make me laugh out loud, and when you posted “In Christ Alone” my eyes teared up. So, I guess I just wanted to encourage you. Keep fighting the good fight and keeping the faith, and I’ll be backing you with prayer. Sometime I’d like to go to one of your concerts, I love your music. haha I feel like I’m rambling, sorry :\ You’re awesome! :D
Perfect layout! How did you get it?
Amazing layout I think.
Absolutely beautiful! Sometimes there are older posts that i come back to because they are good for picking me up out of the mundane. This happens to be one of them.
Also, I’m totally diggin that picture, so cool.
Undeniably consider that which you said. Your favourite reason seemed to be on the web the easiest thing to understand of. I say to you, I certainly get irked whilst other folks think about worries that they just do not realize about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the top and also outlined out the whole thing without having side-effects , other people could take a signal. Will likely be again to get more. Thanks
